Mathmagician is my entry for Brainjam 2020. The theme of the jam was Calculate.

In Mathmagician , you play as a nameless wizard who can manipulate the flow of mana by arithmetic operations. That sounds fancy but I assure you it's actually very simple.

The Nameless wizard you play as has grudge against his university for not acknowledging his new theory.  So our hero decides to takes the matter into his own hands and challenged every professor in the university to duel him.

How do these duels work? It's a simple turn based affair.

Every turn, you draw spell cards from your deck. Each spell card has a  mana requirement. EX: ">=20".

Every turn, You also draw mana cards. Each mana card has a numeric value.  In order to activate a spell, you need to use a mana card with a value that fulfills the spells requirements. Ex: a 11 valued mana card won't be able to activate a spell with a requirement with ">=20" but a mana  card with a value of 22 will.

Our protagonist happens to be pretty bad at generating mana . In fact the highest valued mana card he can generate is 11! But that is not an issue at all! Your incredible new theory allows you to manipulate mana. Take a 11 valued mana  card and a 2 valued mana  card, multiply them , and you can activate that powerful spell with ">=20" requirement.

Truly,  it is an amazing theory. With your help, our hero will be able to publish this theory for the greater good. What do you say?

Good thinking! The theme of the game is very attractive. But the operation is a bit complex : )

Thank you!
